Bora Aksu is a Turkish-born, London-based fashion designer who is known for his feminine, romantic and whimsical creations. His Spring/Summer 2023 collection was inspired by the outsider art of Henry Darger and Marcel Dzama, as well as the military dress of the London Scottish Regiment. The collection featured a mix of pastel-hued silks and satins, polka-dot prints, asymmetric gowns, ruffled taffeta, and playful hats. Aksu also used upcycled materials from rejected designs and damaged fabrics, giving them a new life. The show was held at the London Scottish House, with a minute’s silence for the Queen and a snare drum solo as an introduction.
